1The hotel was dirty, and the room had so many issues. The mini fridge was broken and my husband had to fix it by insulating it with plastic bags. The sink in the bathroom leaked all over the floor whenever you turned the water on, and the staff had absolutely no interest in fixing it. The tile in the shower was stained and looked as though it was molding. There were holes in the walls, and stains on the walls that looked like dried blood. The location was near to the subway, and on a side street, however the smell of cigarettes would come through the window if you left it open. There was no a/c, however they did provide a fan which cooled the room. On the last day, the receptionist got in an argument with my husband because he wanted our room key to be kept at the front desk, which no one explained to us at any point during our stay. Every other day, everyone seemed fine with us taking our room key with us. When we checked out we were informed that there was a 2 Euro per person per night Paris Tax which we had to pay, which no one informed us at any point during our stay, and definitely not when we checked in. I have pictures to prove all of the above, which I would love to share with you. This was the worst hotel at which I have ever stayed.

1Everything. The service was terrible and it was really dirty. The blankets were worn out and smelly. They said breakfast was included but charged me when I was checking out. They also charged me a "city fee" that was never mentioned. This place is more like a motel, not a hotel.

3The hotel is NOT a 3* hotel for a number of reasons. I am comparing with my experiences at Best Westerns, Radisson, Howard Johnsons etc which are generally considered 3* Hotels in America (and indeed referenced as points of comparison on your website). Indeed as I mentioned on the phone, my family has owned and operated a Howard Johnson franchise for a decade so I know a little bit about this. Reasons Pavillon Porte de Versailles is NOT a 3* hotel: 1) TINY rooms - barely enough space to walk around the beds - literally tip toeing around the whole place 2) Entire room was covered in dust when I arrived. Thick dust bunnies covered several appliances. 3) No air conditioning!! 4) Safety deposit box didn't work 5) Bathroom walls were mouldy. Large sections of paint were evidently removed from the doors/walls to ameliorate the mould situation 6) Toilet didn't flush 7) Numerous permanent stains evident on blanket covers 8) Blankets and towels are horrendously overused and require imminent replacement 9) Non-smoking rooms clearly used as smoking rooms recently - stank horribly of smoke. All of these comments are 100% consistent with the previous comments available on Expedia.ca. The expedia comments are obviously skewed by a number of 5* ratings which are ridiculously out of line with reality, and most likely the result of an automated scheme they are a part of.
