Bad: The staff don't understand English. He used the google translation to understand and still never got the right answer. The bathroom was quite smelly. No electric kettle & no tea bags. The balcony door, if opened came right over me instead of opening.

Good: I was speaking at a conference at one of the universities and I shared a room with an academic colleague from Athens. I asked for a bright room. I managed to get a room with a balcony which I have to say had a lovely view. The young man on the desk was very obliging. Sadly, the owner/manager was really unpleasant. The lights on one side of the bed did not work and the owner/manager (a different person to the young man on the desk) refused to get them seen to so I couldn't work at night. In addition to the above, the toilet/shower room smelled really badly of sewage and once again, although it was reported repeatedly to the manager, he did nothing to rectify the situation. At one point he lost his temper - overall he was a very unpleasant person. The hotel is a mediocre three star --- what a shame though, because with a bit of decoration work on the premises and a more pleasant attitude/manner to customers from the owner/manager it could be a much nicer place. I would not recommend anyone to stay there unless the management was different.
