7Great location, pricey but then so is all of Iceland
Good: This is a fairly new hotel - the location is brilliant, everything you might want to see in downtown Reykavk is walking distance, everything is sparklingly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Bad: I upgraded to a deluxe room and think it was a mistake - the room was nice and large and had a big, black marble bathroom but it was very gloomy. I was booked into a second floor room but it had one small window - the lovely receptionist moved me to a ground floor room with more window but it was still very dark, with the windows looking out onto a wall. There's nothing they can do about the dark skies in winter but they could do a lot to improve the lighting, particularly above the bed. To be fair, this is an Icelandic thing, lots of bars and restaurants have very low lighting as well, but when dawn didn't break until 10am, having a room that was badly lit was quite depressing.
